My Story

My Name is Destannie and here is a little piece of my story.

    I am a natural care giver and I easily lend a helping hand. I became a Labor and Delivery nurse in 2008, a dream I had since I was 5 years old. After 10 years in Labor and Delivery I was able to work in an office setting with families who had high risk pregnancies.  With a total of 13 years helping parents to learn about their growing bellies, bond with those new babies, and feed their new babies, I decided to become a certified Lactation Consultant. As a certified Lactation Consultant, I aim to create a life balance that prioritizes everyone’s wellbeing and strengthens the bonds within your family.

     I also have 13+ years experience in the shoes of a parent. My husband and I have 4 children of our own! I have a set of beautiful twin girls, another beautiful girl, and a handsome son. My personal lactation journey had many challenges, which included bottle feeding, exclusive pumping, low milk supply, no milk supply, a tongue tie, and slow let downs...to name a few. This experience as a mom propelled my desire to become an IBCLC even more.
